Wives be subject to your husband

“Wives, be subject to your husbands, as this fitting in the Lord.” Colossians 3:18

This is what my dearly beloved mother advised me on the day we got married. She said the many are saying that marriage is no longer a viable institution, it has been disaraged but as Christians we must set a standard for others to follow.

Yes! That’s true. When we look at the statistics, it show half of all marriages end in divore. We may be tempted to think that they are right. Let us hold fast with our faith. God is must be the third party in our marriage. Like a strong three cord, it can not easily be broken for God instituted marriage.

Our routine

If you think about it, much of what we do daily is a repeat of what we did on previous days. Our morning preparations, our 9-5 jobs, our after schools schedules involves lots of repetition. We are relaxed with routine. And that's not really such a dreadful thing. Routine gives a certain coherence to life.

But let us reexamine our routines. Is God part of our daily schedules. The Lord calls us to seek first his kingdom ( Matthew 6:33). That little word first carries with it the idea of priorities. When God's Word convicts us in this area , our behaviors and priorities will change.

Are you consistent with your daily morning devotion? or you just jump-out of bed to do your early morning activities. Do you just sleep at night without thanking God for a victorious day?

Let God reigns in your daily routines!

Great is Thy faitfulness

Join us on Marriage Monday

It's almost time to gather as a community of married Christian women once again. You're invited to join us for Marriage Monday on August 31, 2009.

I'm delighted to announce that Chrysalis will be our hostess this coming Monday. Our topic is "Girl Talk: Mothers & Daughters Talk About Love."

Power up your laptop and think about about mother-daughter relationships. If don't know where to begin, perhaps you can expand on one or more of the following ideas in your entry:

• What are you teaching your daughter about love and marriage?
• What was your mother’s best marriage advice to you?
• What valuable truths have been passed on by your mother-in-law?
• Where can daughters go for counsel when Mom is unavailable?

BTW, if you have all boys, don't feel left out. Chrysalis have some instructions for you on Monday. JOIN US!

Thankful Thursday

There are countless things to thank God for this week but I’ll just pick one :

I greatly thank God for the 45th birthday of our Bishop . My discipler, my pastor and my friend. His life is truly been a blessing to the church and to our family.

I thank God for the Vision he planted in the heart of our Pastor. The tasks entrusted to him is not easy but he remain dedicated to his calling.

Thank you Lord for the 45 fruitful years !

WFW : The Cross

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor. 1 :18

Hooked up with WaiverWire

Last month I signed up a free stimulus package at WaiverWire . Since then, I got hooked up with playing fantasy football. Much more now that the National Football League has started its preseason game, I enjoyed browsing the message board, team statistics , player rankings, headline news and guru zone weekly challenge.

My hubby and I have two favorite teams – the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Between the two, I’ll go for the Nation Steelers (Pittsburg Steelers fan base nickname) as being the defending champion of NFL, having won Super Bowl XLIII last February 1, 2009. My favorite players Willie Parker (Running Back), Mike Wallace (Wide Receiver) and Denis Dixon (Quarterback) did good jobs last Saturday showcasing their best but it wasn't enough to bring home the bacon. They were defeated by the Washington Redskins 17-13. It was not a good start for them as Dennis Dixon suffered a shoulder injury in the game. I hope they can make it next Saturday against Buffalo Bills.

Wow! I can not give you the full coverage of the game. For more headline news and game schedules, sign-up an account at Waiverwire today. Build your own fantasy football team, be a part of the rough and tumble world of the Champions.

I love Faces : Nostalgia

This week’s theme is completely unique. I love Faces photography is looking for photo that brings back a nostalgic feeling.

Everytime I look at this picture, I couldn’t helped but miss my mom who passed away 5 months ago. This was the first page of the scrapbook I made during her 75th birthday. She was so proud and happy of my craft that she always bring it whenever she has out of town trip.

As of this writing, the memory of my mom flashes back. Oh, God… I terribly missed her.

Miss Venezuela crowned Miss U again!

I Just finished watching the live telecast on TV the most glamorous beauty pageant MISS UNIVERSE . Though dis-heartened that our bet did not made to the top 15 finalist, I enjoyed watching all those 83 beautiful ladies in their swimsuit & evening gowns. The island in Nassau , Bahamas where the competition was held is truly a paradise.

Each of us watching made our bet who will be crowned Miss Universe 2009 and I won…hahahahaha. My son teased me that it’s impossible for Miss Venezuela to win since last year’s winner is from their country but I insisted. She’s truly a queen in her blood red gown .

I supposed to take a picture for my blog but because of my over excitement, I forgot it. Congratulations also to the Asian beauties –Miss china for voted as Miss Congeniality and Miss Thailand for Miss Photogenic.
Head to missuniverse.com for more update.

Jealousy

Jealousy can be an infectious in in the life of the church. Some are jealous of those who are especially gifted in music. Others are jealous of those who have special talents in speaking and teaching. David could have been jealous because God chose someone else to build the temple. But David recognized that the temple was God's idea. As the great architect, God knew best who should carry out the task of leading on the construction of this magnificient structure.

The Church also is God's idea. He is the designer and foreman of the building of this magnificient spiritual structure. He knows who functions best in the different aspects of the building of His church. So, we should'nt envy who's doing the task or who's working in a certain ministry.

The cure for jealousy is encouragement. When we see a felow Christian using his or hergiftedness in the areas of music, dancing, teaching, etc., our encouragement of that person can drive feelings of jealousy far away! Amen?

Best of Time

What does Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham have in common? Or what are they known for? It isn’t having paparazzi following them around everywhere they go or the 3 M’s and the 3 G’s they have but it’s their love for all kinds of designer clothes and accessories.

I have read in people magazine their collection of watches which amounted to millions of dollars! That doesn’t include yet their gorgeous collection of bags, apparels and jewelries. Combining their millions, it will probably pay the debt of our country from the world bank.

Talking about luxury watches , ROLEX topped the list because it combines style and elegance with performance and durability. Visit http://www.bestoftime.com/ for 100% genuine and authentic with serial number Rolex watches . Best of Time brings with it over a decade’s of proven retail success, service and satisfaction . They are proud members of BBB, Better Business Bureau and hold the highest form of recognition with an exceptional A+ RATING the highest possible rating a business can get!

Check out their site and start dreaming. Who knows? You may inherit thousand of dollars someday, marry a business tycoon or simply you may win a lottery…hahahahaha. There’s no harm in dreaming.

The joy of the Lord is my strength

Thank God for the strength today! Early in the morning till 2pm , I escorted my daughter on their school’s annual field trip. Yes! It is enjoyable but at the same time very tiring. The heat of the sun is at its peak… and all I did was to run back and forth looking for my little girl . She was so thrilled with the ostriches, crocodiles , birds, snakes, sheep and other animals that oftentimes she’s lost in the crowd.

In the afternoon, I was busy in the office preparing for our Bishops 45th birthday. Went to order balloons, flowers and tarp banners . I was running against time that I almost forgot my bank transactions ( it’s holiday tomorrow).

6-8pm, I accompanied my 73 yr. old mom-in-law to her weekly grocery and marketing. Went home 9pm so sleepy…. But still has the strength to attend to the kids needs. What a day!

In all these… God is worthy to be praise! The Joy of the Lord is my strength.

Making my home sing

This week is the busiest of all this month since it is my kids exam week. The reason my post came up late since both my hubby and I helped our kids projects in school. Ohhhh there are lots of them - visual aides, scrap booking, portfolio, various reports and props requirement for their drama. It was an endless internet browsing and printing.

The house is a mess . I need to clean –it up today…

Thank God, it’s holiday this Friday. It will be a day of general cleaning. I have to finished it half day so that we can have our usual “ family date day” in the afternoon till evening.

I’m sure by these, I can make my home sing.

How's your prayer life today?

The opportunity to pray and talk to God is a wonderful blessings . It is the chance to be in the presence of the creater of the universe. It gives us the privilege to communicate with our heavenly Father as often as we want to. Our prayer life is like our spiritual cell phone. However, in prayer God is never ourt of range, His line is never busy, we're not put on hold a nd minutes are free.

But so manu seeminly important things can be allowed to squeeze one's unique place in prayer is to have and the consequebces for neglecting it. Prayer allow God to help us to do what we are called to do in His strength. This is obviously better than our trying to do God's will in our own strength.

How's your prayer life today?

In everything give thanks

Something came up last week that seem to be hopeless situation for us. I can not help but we worried. To be honest, I have some sleepless nights. God reminded me with the verse :

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So now instead of worrying, I rather thank Him for the opportunity of deliverance. For His mercy , Grace and faithfulness. I know this will come to pass!

Football's Best Team of 2009

I grew up surrounded by men. I am the only girl and the youngest among my five brothers. I also have four male cousins who lived with us. Oftentimes they will bring their classmates and friends at home just to hang out. Our house helps? They were all men too. So basically, I am inclined to love men’s sports and some of their hobbies.

Our residence is just a walk away from the City’s Sports Center, so during weekends we go the center and play volleyball, badminton and football. I enjoy the rough and tumble game of Football and have the adrenalin to do it.

Now, I am still playing football – but only online through
WaiverWire . I signed-up with their FREE Fantasy Stimulus Package and I enjoyed customizing my scoring sheet and uploading my fantasy team. My team is Minnesota Vikings. They may not be your bet for this years NFL’s season but they are the best team for me. Why?, because Adrian Peterson is with them. Adrian nicknamed “AD” and “Purple Jesus” will surely perform the best in 2009. In last year’s NFL Pro Bowl, he sprinted 129 yards and two touchdowns, acquiring the second highest rushing total in Pro Bowl history. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for his performance in the Pro Bowl.

So who’s your bet for this year? Visit
WaiverWire to see their pre-populated comparison pages and be in the center of the game’s thrill and excitement!

Sunday Sermon

GENESIS 27:41 -28:22

Many of us have been challenged byevangelistic sermons claiming that "Christianity is only one generation from extinction." By this , preachers usually mean no one is automatically born a believer. Although many people have been brought up in a Christian homes, thisfavorable environment is not enough to make one a Christian. At some point each person must respond to the gospel through personal decision, not the decision of the parents. This is why Christians must spread the good news to the next generation.

OPur Jewish forefathers also had to make personal decisions. Abraham accepted God's call, Isaac accepted God's call and even Jacob- the deceiver is invited to continue the faith of his father and grandfather. How does this response apply to us today?

OUR EMOTIONS

I received this text from my Brother who is medical doctor. I would like to share it with you.
