Get That Stinky Smell Away !

Rice is the staple food of most Asian countries but Filipinos are known to be heavy rice eaters. It is usually taken for breakfast, lunch , dinner and even during snacks time. Yes! Rice is the basic food that binds all our menu together.
Our forefathers have been cooking steamed rice in clay pots… thanks to the Americans who introduced us with rice cookers, cooking it was made easier. But remember this appliance is not dishwasher safe so how to properly clean a sticky rice cooker ? How to eliminate that stinky odor from left overs? Here’s some helpful tips :

1. Simply Steam your rice cookers without any rice inside. The steam is a natural antibacterial and with a little help of a lemon it will easily remove the stinky smell.
2. Scrub the inside of the rice cooker with baking by using a small brush. This helps soak up any of the nasty odors that may have built up over time.
3. Overpower the stinky smell of your rice cooker with a stronger smell. Coffee grounds inside your rice cooker will not remove all smells, but it will help make the scent inside more pleasant until it goes away over time.
