A WALK TO REMEMBER

Talking about the National Election 2 weeks ago, I voted for the Party List “ Association of Mindanao Elders”. Why? Because I have a soft heart for our Senior Citizens. I believe that they should have a representation in our Congress. They deserve all the benefits – knowing that they are already in their last days of their lives. Look at them? Their pension can not even buy their needed medication. My heart grieves seeing them piling the long lines under the heat of the sun to get their pension outside Veterans Bank. Visit your nearest hospital, you can see our seniors struggling to get through the crowded emergency area. Worst…. most of the establishments ignore the 20% discounts due to them.

How I wish our elderly have the same benefits as those in the US. They are well taken care of from their food,shelter, medications and even recreation. They even have medical alert system in case of emergency. They can be quickly reach by 911 at a press of their medical alert necklace or bracelet.

I am praying that the new administration will be able to see the need of our Senior Citizen.
