What is an IVR?

Ahhh... it is such a waste of time calling customer service of my internet connection provider. Thos morning I have been put on-hold for about 20 minutes and when it’s time to talk to the telephone operator I was again put on-hold and referred to a customer service agent! After 10 minutes I just cut the call knowing that my concern will lead nowhere.

How I wish our telecommunication system is as high-tech as that of the western countries where they have this IVR ( Interactive Voice Response).
