Readying for our flight that morning of July was just an unforgettable one. My hubby and I planned this vacation for months now and we are looking forward to a perfect get away. We prepared everything for every details and nothing should get wrong as we thought. Getting up early for the first flight we have booked, we were so excited since this will be our first time to spend a 3-day vacation to Boracay. Again, nothing should get wrong. But it seemed to be a twist when we were not able to get a taxi right then that we decided to ride a commuter jeepney. The 15-minute taxi ride from our home to the airport became a 30-minute long ride for us.
Arriving at the airport and having our baggage checked, our spirits were nearly crushed when the airport staff told us that we were 5 minutes late, the airplane’s doors were closed and that we could not board the plane. If we could not be on this flight, our connecting flight to Boracay will also be canceled. We really begged the staff to consider us but to no avail. We immediately asked another airline if there are any vacancies for their first flight. And indeed there was, but we have to pay quadruple the amount we already paid for that missed flight. We panicked knowing that we weren’t sure if we have that amount. Thanks the balance transfers to our ATM card was enough to cover the cost. It was indeed a lesson learned. That would be the first and the last!
