The recently concluded Kagay-an Festival was a successful one. Congratulations to the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, the Kagay-an Festival Organizers , the NGO’s and the business sectors for making the one week celebration a peaceful, orderly and memorable to all.
I have witnessed last week the first “HAT” ( Kalo ) parade and contest . Wow! I enjoyed watching those girls, gays and guys parading their hand crafted hats . Some made from recycled and indigenous materials. Sad to say that I was not able to see the Golden Float Parade showcasing the winners of the Miss Cagayan Beauty Pageant. We sleep late the night before thus we were not able to wake up early to watch the parade. Anyway, thanks to the local TV network for streaming it live .
There were various fun activities in the city. The two largest TV Networks in the country stage also live entertainment showcasing their networks stars. There were various sports ( shooting, motorcross, adminton, marathon and basketball ) , Dance ( Folkloric, Hip-hop and ballet ) and singing competitions. Our city is famous for it’s white river rafting . A friend told me that their were various fun activities at the river and at Macahambus cave.
The biggest attraction we had was the Carnival at Lim Ket Kai Mall. At first, I snubbed it thinking that it was the same carnival as last year but when we arrived at the place, I was impressed. Why? Because their rides were the same as that in Star City Manila. They have roller coater, Ferris Wheel and “Anchor is away”. Their were also magic shows that delighted children and young adults. Even the best online casino games were played during the city fiesta. We went to Ice Castle in Rosario Arcade, Lim Ket Kai Mall to taste their famous Banana Split, we have a hard time looking for parking space since people were crowding at the adjacent establishment . I was surprise to see an Electronic Casino Café … I asked the guard why people were rushing inside and he said that it’s the schedule of the best online casino games. I peeped through the glass and I saw people playing the best online casino games and other slots machine inside. I wondered if the City’s Entertainment Regulatory Board is already aware of this best online casino games. They should check this out since I saw some minors inside the establishment.
